Draft Details
1 Scope
1.1 Inclusions
This Standard applies to self-propelled, hydrogen powered, non-rail-bound mobile machines for use in non-gassy underground mines. It provides requirements for hydrogen-related components and systems of such machines, such as fuel cell stack system, controller system, on-board hydrogen-related components.
It is also intended to be used in conjunction with CSA M424.0, CSA M424.3, and CSA M424.4, each as applicable.
1.2 Exclusions
This Standard considers hydrogen-related components of hydrogen-powered machines, such as fuel cell hydrogen vehicles as the base system configuration. All other components of the vehicle and related infrastructure, such as battery- and mechanical-related components are excluded from this standard.
Notes:
1) See CSA M424.0 for general vehicle design, safety, and performance requirements.
2) See CSA M424.3 for brake construction, stopping performance, and test requirements.
3) See CSA M424.4 for self-propelled, electrically driven, non- rail-bound mobile machines for use in non-gassy underground mines
